I have always been drawn to the outdoors and like working on puzzles. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. I spent a lot of time playing in the stream beds and collecting rocks, fossils, and crystals. I earned a degree in Geology at University of Memphis and I worked for several firms doing soil testing and surveying. I enjoyed working outdoors, but there wasn’t much room for creativity.

Around this time, I was on a mission to recreate a tie-dye shirt I made during a family vacation. It was a simple red, white, and blue July 4th-themed T-shirt. The shirt was threadbare, and the sentimentality of it led me to order some dyes and make it again.  The process sparked my creativity, and soon, I was making shirts for friends and family.  I read books and watched tutorials on designs, patterns, and color theory.  I used my imagination and hands in ways that made me smile. After a couple of years, I took the leap of faith and decided to make tie-dye my full-time profession.

I now live in Asheville, NC, with my fiancé and dog. When I am not working in my studio, I play disc golf with my friends, hike on a mountain trail, attend a concert, or enjoy one of the many vegetarian cuisines in local restaurants.
